Exercise 1: Make a Flow Chart

My dream is to become a pharmacist and in order to get into a pharmacy school, I need:

1. 1. Good grades
2. 2. A Bachelor's Degree
3. 3. Experience in pharmacy field
4. 4. 2-3 Recommendation Letter
5. 5. A good PCAT score
6. 6. An excellent personal statement
7. 7. Extracurricular Activities

1. Good Grades

• Must get As and Bs in all of my classes
• Study everyday
• Do well on all of the exams
• No cramming

2. A Bachelor's Degree

• Must obtain some sort of degree(It is not required for pharmacy school, but it is highly recomended)
• Within getting a bachelor's degree, must fulfill all of the pre-pharmacy requirements
• Preferably a bachelor's in science field

3. Experience in Pharmacy field

• Get a Pharm-tech license/certification
• Try to get a Pharmtech job
• Volunteer at community health programs or the pharmacy department in a hospital/health care center.

4. 2-3 Recommendation letters

• Start building a professional relationship with either a professor/boss or both
• Ask them to write a letter atleast few months in advance

5. A good PCAT score

• Start studying for PCATs early
• Be well prepared
• Try to take the preparation courses
• Practice everyday before taking the test

6. An excellent Personal Statement

• Write a personal statement but be true to yourself
• Have someone peer edit it
• Keep working on the draft till satisfied and with no errors

7. Extracurricular Activites

• Try to participate in outside clubs/organizations
• Be involved as possible
• Try to make a change by being on e-board
• Be an active member
